Kevin the cutsie kitten

View all 5 photos...
Tig, who I work with, breeds Birman kittens. Here'e the first one of the latest batch to find a home. A little girl cat, the name 'Kevin' being fairly provisional. Undoubtedly to be replaced by something more fitting (Eric?) at a later date.

Still two more left

What a great kitty...I think this one and my ki tty'd get along just fine!! Sat 24-Jul-2004 00:38

Normandy at peace in the 21st century is a very beautiful place. Greatly different from the earlier experience of the many eighty and ninety year old veterans who revisited this year.

Nice set! Tue 29-Jun-2004 09:30

An assortment of transport to be seen in and around Normandy earlier in the month.

Shot #1 is the first shot of the group of vehicles I 'antiqued' for the earlier black and white photos below.

Well documented...i didn't know the VW was a car used then... Tue 15-Jun-2004 01:01

The sadder side of Normandy

The British Airborne Cemetery at Ranville
Back together, at last
US Cemetery at Colleville
View all 6 photos...
Inevitably the 60th Anniversary celebrations had their downside too. The serried ranks of headstones, each standing for a life that ended too early.

The contrast between the very stark US crosses and the UK headstones softened by rows of plants and flowers was very noticeable. But even in the US Cemetery some little individual touches appeared, a bunch of flowers here, a hand-painted pebble there. Maybe they were collected up seconds after I'd walked away. I'll never know.

Picture #2?

A small group of mixed ages were gathered around a sixty year-old grave which had had a neat, rectangular hole excavated near the headstone. On the ground next to it a polished wooden casket, just a little smaller than the hole.

A wife was about to be reunited with the husband she loved after sixty long years of separation

respect! Fri 11-Jun-2004 06:59

Utah beach memorial
Just back from the commemorations of the allies landing on the beaches of Normandy.

You're very fortunate to have been able to be there for it. What a grand ceremony. Love the historical war photos..... Wed 9-Jun-2004 02:10

Photoshop fun

Take a fairly average 'tourist' shot
And a handy picture of a sky
Then paste the two together
Just playing around

except the sun to the right of clouds and to the left on the pic, pedantic mode off Sat 15-May-2004 19:03

What else to do on a damp Sunday but to head off down to Walberswick to annoy the crabs.

Please note. No animals were harmed in the making of this Fotopage, though some were mightily p*ss*d off.

Looks like a fun day out! And I could do serious damage to that pint.... Mon 10-May-2004 13:49
